Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Laryl Sulfate are ingrediants that you find in a lot of shampoos. Well, I recently did research on these ingrediants and found that it is a carcinogen (can cause cancer). The FDA has encouraged companies that manufacture shampoo to cut sulfates out of there products. So if anyone knows of any good sulfate free shamps. and conds. for drugstore prices, let me know about them!!!What are some good sulfate free shampoos and conditioners for drugstore prices?
My mom told me about this today too, and it freaked me out! The best place to buy shampoos free of this are at Whole Foods. They sell all kinds of natural shampoos, that are famous and work well. You also may be able to find some natural shampoos in walgreens or some grocery stores that carry a wide selection. More and more stores are looking into the ';natural'; way of living and stock more stuff like natural shampoos, deodorants, nail polishes..etc.

Pantene is pretty good and reasonable or VO5.
Try Garnier or Herbal Essences. But don't use Pantene, it is too harsh and waxy.
Whatever the brand is you cannot take them on the plane.

Can anyone recommend a dog shampoo other than hartz that is reasonable priced?
8-in-1 Oatmeal is what I use on my bulldogs. It leaves them smelling nice but not overly perfumed and it really softens their coats! They have extremely sensitive skin and it does not irritate them.
You can buy 8-in-1 products at PetSmart and PetCo.Can anyone recommend a dog shampoo other than hartz that is reasonable priced?

I use the Suave baby shampoo on my dogs. It cleans them, doesnt have a lot of chemicals, and smells nice.
Tropiclean and Earthbath. Good for pets and the environment.
u did not say if you wanted it for ticks, fleas, or dry-skin. they make all kinds , there are usually non-name brand products that are not as expensive and work just as well. have u went to dollar general, or any discount stores?

Can anyone IN JAPAN recommend a reasonably priced two-in-one shampoo + conditioner suitable for kids?
I'm on the outskirts of Tokyo prefecture, and my daughter's supply of L'Oréal kids shampoo from the UK has almost run out!
The only decent looking two-in-one I've found so far is a Ban-dai kids effort - 357円 for 150 ml. We did find another one once, we bought it from a local 100円 store ... but it was SO drying we had to use conditioner afterwards anyway! Can't use something like that on my daughter, she has fairly fine hair, and it will frizz up like a bush if she uses grotty shampoo..!
So I would be very grateful for any (sensible, and Japan based) recommendations for a decent yet not-expensive product! Also, which shops you've found it in - and all the kanji etc. from the front please, so I know exactly what I'm looking for..!!Can anyone IN JAPAN recommend a reasonably priced two-in-one shampoo + conditioner suitable for kids?
Have you tried Soft in One? It costs 1,000 yen for a big bottle. You would want to try the pink colored one since it is the しっとり(moisturizing) type. But to give you more selection, the second link is all the 2-in-1 shampoos you can buy online. They also have Johnson's kid 2-in-1 shampoo. In Japanese they call 2-in-1 shampoo リンスインシャンプー (rinse in shampoo) so you can ask your neighborhood for リンスインシャンプー.Can anyone IN JAPAN recommend a reasonably priced two-in-one shampoo + conditioner suitable for kids?
I hope that you will be able to find one that is suitable for your daughter! Report Abuse
Foreign Buyer's Club probably has the L'Oreal you are looking for, among other things.

To be honest, I haven't seen any 2 in 1 since I've been in Japan. They all have seperate bottles.
If you(she) are suffering from the itchy scalp, try Merit.
Either separate or two-in-one are availavle.

I like this cos it's hypoallergenic. However, I'm little worry about your word ';drying'; for your daughter.
Please try this yourself first.
When you try to wash and condition in one step, all you are doing is keeping the dirt on her hair and making it slimy at the same time.
Try Suntori Sake!

Are any of the claims of high priced shampoos and conditioner companies make true?
I have noticed that there are claims that hair care products can restore, repair, fix damaged hair, and that the price of products are up to 60.00. I don't want to be a sucker but would spend more money if it wasn't just malarky. Are any of the claims of high priced shampoos and conditioner companies make true?
hair products will maintain healthy growth. buy at a good reputable salon. they will have the best products for you to use. the reason why other shampoo and conditioners are less expensive is because they are made from more synthetic ingredients that are not so good for the hair. the ';High priced'; stuff is made with better ingredients that are derived from natural plant materials. Are any of the claims of high priced shampoos and conditioner companies make true?
most of them are not true, but some are, like their smell
